The International Organization for Migration (IOM), in partnership with World Food Programme (WFP), conducted a biometric registration of the population living in Panyijar County on 13 February – 16 April 2017. Biometric registration started in the greater Nyal area covering first Nyal town followed by Mayom and Kol and then the greater Ganyiel area which includes Ganyiel Town, Pachaar, Chuk and Tiap. In total, IOM and WFP biometrically registered 69,389 individuals (15,494 households) across Panyijar.
